  • 3 tips to keep your nails in tip-top shape - We've all been there. The manicure we're trying to do on ourselves goes horribly awry, and we don't have time to repaint our nails! Or the manicure we got was perfect, and we screwed it up somehow! Thankfully, those scenarios can be a thing of the past with these three tips guaranteed to keep your nails looking absolutely perfect.

Wear rubber gloves while washing the dishes.
Every manicurist has told us to do this. Seriously, it's in their top 3 nail tips! Wearing rubber gloves while you wash the dishes keeps your nails looking perfect much longer, and it makes your skin so much better not to be in that hot, soapy water.

Clean up stray polish with a cotton-wrapped orange stick.
So, you've given yourself a pretty amazing manicure ... and then disaster strikes. Your cuticles are covered in red/green/blue/purple/(insert other color here) nail polish. The easiest way to clean them up? With an orange stick wrapped in cotton and soaked in remover! Simply swab it over your cuticles and the excess polish will come right off.

    Deborah-Lippmann-Fashion-Nail-Polish.jpgWhen in doubt, start simple.
So you've never really been that great at doing your own nails, but you want to get better. Start small! Rather than jumping right into dark, hard to apply colors like red, blue or black, start with a pale pink or nude that won't show up as much if you make mistakes. We recommend a color like Deborah Lippmann Fashion ($16 at deborahlippmann.com), which not only is indistinguishable if you make a mistake but is such a gorgeous nude.

  • Benefit's Refined Finish Facial Polish Review - My first  review of Benefit skin care:  Refined  Finish Facial Polish review

    Benefit Refined Finish Facial Polish
I am a big fan of Benefit, yes they are in the top bracket of affordable makeup but you always get quality products. I call Benefit a ''duty free and birthday brand" meaning that when I want to treat myself I head to the Benefit counter, otherwise I pick it up with left over holiday pennies or include it on my birthday list. There are a few Benefit products that have become staples of my everyday makeup. Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow is by far my favourite foundation to date, I cannot leave the house without using Benefit's Browzings and Hervana is my current go to blush. However, Benefit's Refined Finish Facial Polish is my first experience of their skin care range.

    Benefit Refined Finish Facial Polish

I was given Benefit's Refined Finish Facial Polish in a goody bag when I attended a beauty bloggers event hosted by Benefit back in February and have been using it ever since, so it is definitely long lasting and gives plenty of washes. The face wash is creamy with beads for exfoliation. When you wash with the Refined Finish Facial Scrub you do feel like your skin is clean, polished and more radiant. I have quite dry skin and this polish is kind and surprisingly moisturing for an exfoliating product.

    Benefit Refined Finish Facial Polish

Benefit's Refined Polish is a creamy exfoliator, it has a lovely, light floral scent and is kind to skin. However, as much as I like the Benefit Refined Finish Facial Polish, I don't love it. My real sticking point with this product is the price of £17.50. I personally feel that although this product is quite luxurious, £17.50 is a little bit too expensive
